The MA in Social Sciences, the only degree of its type in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, is a multi-disciplinary degree currently offering concentrations in History and Anthropology.  The program is housed in the Department of History & Anthropology and provides:

  • K-12 teachers the opportunity to take graduate professional development content courses or obtain a content-specific MA,
  • Non-credentialed social service professionals access to graduate education that supports professional development and career advancement,
  • Professional education in Public History and Museum Studies, and
  • Preparation for further graduate or professional education.

The Program is particularly supportive of students with interests in US Social History, Women's History, Military History, American Studies, Anthropology, Applied Sociology, Social Science Research Methods, and Gender Studies.
