This course deals with world history from (essentially) the Big Bang through the Reformation. Class attendance is expected and roll will be taken. During the course of the semester there will be three (3) major exams (100 points each), a map exam (100 points), and a comprehensive final (100 points). Your final grade will be an average of your two best major exams, your map exam, and your final (counted twice). Grades will not be curved. Each major exam will consist of an objective portion (80%), a map (10%), and a short essay (10%). The objective portion may be multiple choice, completion, true-false, and matching. The map portion will require you to correctly locate selected features and places on an outline map.
Make-up Policy: If you know you are going to miss an exam for a legitimate reason come talk to me before the exam. Missed exams may be made up, but it is your responsibility to schedule a make-up. Please, however, do not miss exams. Make-up exams administered after exams have been returned may be all essay. Except in extremely rare circumstances I do not give exams early.
